HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.

The-Hon.-,C. M. Lnke (chairman), Messrs. G.liondon, E; C. Kirk, G. Nash, and Jaines Trevor were present at the fortnightly meeting of the Bpai-d of Hospital Trustees held yesterday morning. The .secretary's, report showed that there -were 206 patients'in the hospital, compared with 261 at the same time last year. The number of in-patients admitted during the fortnight,was 93, as against 79 for the corresponding period last year. The receipts.for,the fortnight, including £177 Is. 2d. brought forward, totalled \£2li)o, of which. amount .£1391 was received from the-District Hospital Board. After current accounts were met there would be a balance of .£957 7s. W. to carry forward. The receipts from in-patients amounted to os. lOd., and from out-patients £3 10s. / It was'decided to;ask for a .free pass on the city tramways for the hospital messehgor. • The matter of paying duty on drugs used'in the hospital was brought' up by the Financo Committee,- which recommended: "That the District Health Officer bo written -to with reference to the duty on anti-toxin serums and vaccines and some other very < necessary 'drugs being reduced or. removed, or that they be supplied free or at a reduced price owing to this hoing a public institution." The recommendation was unanimously adopted.
