VICTORIA COLLEGE AMATEUR ATHLETIC CLUB.

The sixth annual meeting of the Victoria College Amateur Athletic Club was held on Friday evening. , .- ■ • . . ..■ . ~ In the report'laid before the meeting the committee stated that although the work'of tho club for, tho past.season'might bo regarded as satisfactory, still the committee regretted that owing to the laok of enthusiasm displayed by the majority of the Victoria College men students and the consequent fewness of entries, it was impossible to hold a sports meeting of tbo club. "Nevertheless, owing to the consistent .training of a small nnniber of our members, the representatives at the Inter-Univeraity-College tournament which was held last Easter at Wellington, performed . very creditably, though they could not attain the Cud position; of the Easter before, being ten by Canterbury College by two points only. Except in ono or two .cases, the competition for places in the representative .team for tho university tournament: was not at all as keen as it might.be. In-this connection the club was again deeply indebted to Mr. J,; P. Firth for the use of the Wellington' College groundSj. Thecollege' team was runnerup for the Athletic Shield, scoring an.aggregate of 13 points (three firsts and seven seconds). The club has a membership of 25.' The club's finances show, a credit balance of 18s. Bd. Tho committee UTanks Professor Richmond and Mr. W. J.
