HIS PLEA,TO THE POLICE COMMISSION.! In-regard to the complaint which Mr, J. J; : 'lleikle brought before the Police Commission, ■ the following statement , is made by Mr.,Hi W. : .Bishop.'S.M., Eoyal :Conuuissioner:—"Tho allegation against, constable mentioned by Sir. -Meikle is one of perjury," and any inquiry before the Polico Commission must be in the , nature of a. trial on a charge of perjury, which .is clearly a charge for investigation by a . Court, of Justice, and outside the scope of any commission. If tho constable concerned was found ■guilty' , of perjnry by a Court of competent 1 jurisdiction, and was thereafter retained in tho police ''service, then without doubt it would be the duty, of: any Police Commission, to deal with, the matter.", .
