At the Basin Reserve on Saturday afternoon the unbeaten Capitolj Club" met ' and defeated tho recently-formed Club, which: had come through the season with only'one 'previous defeat, i.e., Capitol, 'in tho first round of tho championship fixtures. - There - was - a good attendance' of spectators,VwJioeo interest in the'game was keenly, manifested. Although neither club was ; represented'- by : its strongest combination,' a good exhibition - of- tho game was given by both.teams,.there-being at intervals'during tho gamo some fino passing bouts, reminiscent of the .play of the Auckland team which'lately visited Wellington. Tho - first spell was all in favour, .of Kelburne, who; by accurate passing' and good piny'notched .three goals,' tho scorers', being Meyer'(2) and Loughnan (1).
