The moiithly meeting of the Eastbourne Borough' Council was held in Wise's EoomS/Kona Bay,' on Saturday evening, whcn' ; thero -wero present: The Mayor. (Mr. J. Barr), .Counqillors lToley, ; Mackenzie,' Organ, Ross, Russell, Sanson,'Wills, tho town clerk,-and tho foreman.' Consideration was given to tho question of .further operations for artesian' water supply, •and it was decided 'to hold a special meeting to deal with repotts from boring experts. " The foreman's report-stated that most of the work-authorised at Roiia Bay had been completed; and tho-work of' draining to cope with tho storm-water nuisanco at South Muritui was in' progress.': : Some complaint was made as to the method of lighting street lttinps, ami tho foreman was directed, to,tako action. ; . , ' .'' Owing to-complaints.hs to wandering'stock and dogs,'the town'clork' was''directed to'appoint a new ranger. ... ~ ■, ,- Tho Jlayor's scheme for plantations along Rona Bay' Beach w'as postponed for eonsidcia"tiou'.till next planting season. .
