' > OPENING MEETING.
The newly-formed Wellington North District Cricket Club held its first effective meeting in' tno bydnoy Street Schoolroom last night. ' Mr. A. L. Herdnmn, M.P., presided. . . p<ew members were enrolled, • bringing the membership un to about 10. Rules which had been approved by a meeting of, the reprci ' li> different clubs were 'submitted, and some amendments were made: One amendment provided for a right of appeal to 101 ?? ■ v l le , n , a member..has boon expired from the. club by the "committee. Rulo 5 states, that the colours .of the club shall be red, white, and black.-- The rules, as amended, wore adopted. . ,°fficors were elected Patron, Mr. H. D. Bell, K.C,; president, Dr. A. K. Newman; vice-president's, Sir J.' G.- Ward, Hons. J. A. Millar and Dr. i'indlay, Mr. 'Justice Chapman,-Messrs. Herdman, I isher, Wilford, and Field M.P.'S, Mr. C. P. Skerrett, Ji.u, and. about thirty other-leading residents i of the, district, subject to their consent; club - A. Richardson; secretary, Mr. D. MKenzie;, treasurer, -Mr. A. M. Adams; committee, Messrs. A. P. Wiren, M: T. Luckie, J..E. Staples, S. Hickson, W. T. Wynvardi V. Waters, H. Buddie; auditor, Mr.. J. Marison.' Messrs. J.- P. Blacklock .and D. M'Kenzie delegates'J to the . association, and Air. AI. .F. Luckio special delegate to the Management. Committee of th© association. _3lr. Luckie . said . the'club ;would play at tho Basin Reserve - until \Anderson Park and Kelburne.Park were available.
