Mr. W. Gadsby, of.Hawera, while in Australia lately soiling his consignment of 'purebred draught horses saw a novel and iuseful horse-collar at Sydney. It was shaped ilike the ordinary collar, and the outside was made of leather; but tho inside consisted of alarge india-rubber bag, which was pumped up tight with an ordinary bicycle pump. It was strong, and stood a great deal of wear, besides Which it had the great merit of adapting itself to tho shape of the horse. Those whoi.had used it were loud in its praise, ho.'said, and the old-fashioned collar was likely to bo relegated to tlie background.
