INJURED BY A TRAIN.
As a train coming in from Hutt about 7 6 clock last night was passing ■tie crossing near the Thorndon Esplanad*, it wasfotutd that ft man named Harold Standle, believed' to b». ft. resident of Marton, had been in jured. ■ How tho accident happened is at .present a mystery. It is not known whother tho; man was a passehger and fell off the .train, or Whether ho was knocked down whilst attempting to orosi tho lino. Ho was taken to tho Thorndon Station, whoro first n.id was rondcrcd by' soma. of. .tio railway officers. Meanwhile-,Dr. Koum arrived on tho scene, and ordered Standlo 1 s removal to tho hospital.' At tho hospital it was •.found that ho had sustained.a severe scalp wound, .'and was also suffering from concussion of tho .brain. Af a late hour last night he bad not -rwjained conscioumcss. :
