THE RANGITIKEI ELECTION.
SPEECH BY MR, HOCKLY. (Uy T'loir&pb.—Special OorresDondcnt.) ' ■ Talhane, September 1. Mr. Hockly addressed a very large meeting at Taihape last night. The Mayor (Mr. Nathan) presided.- The address was on Bomoivhat similar lines to hie opening speech at Hunterville. The speaker.gave the Government oredit whoro he considered it dceerved it, but trenohantly oriticised its maladministration,- and was repeatedly applauded. The Opposition supporters generally expressed great, satisfaction with tho impression made, and it is felt that- Mr. Hockly will secure' largo Biipport horc.
