SUNDAY SCHOOL CELEBRATION.
KENT TERRACE. The anniversary of the Kent Terrace Presbyterian. Sunday - school, which was ob-_ served with special services on-Sunday, was 'further celebrated by a tea and entertain-, ment last evening, the schoolroom being well filled for both functions. After the school choir had sung some of tho special anniversary hymns with good effect, the chairman, tho Rev. J. Kennedy:' Elliott, mada , some introductory remarks, and a. pleasing and diversified programmo was 'soon in full ewing.- Miss Barnard sang "Tho Flight of Ages meritoriously; Mr. J. Dunnett was encored for his song, '"Pegging Away," and responded with "Father O'Flynn"; Miss Eunice Wyett, a youthful singer with.a vcr.y promising voice,, won. much applause for her songs, "Astkore" and "Sing Me to Sleep"; and Miss M'Donald sang "Tatters" in effective style. No fewer than four dialogues were enacted very creditably by scholars. In ■the first, "Throe Thorns," the character* were taken by Misses Madge Scott, Jessio' Mitchell, Masters L. Robinson, D. Perry, and J:. Tolley.. In the second, "The, Fire and its Friends."' parts were borrie by Masters F. Robinson/ R. Fraser, G. Wyett, J). Scott, J. Gordon, and \v. Caddick. Misses K. Williamson, J. M'Bcan, M. Chartres; and K. van Borssum told the" story of "The One ' Mistako"; and .Misses Rita Diment and Ruby Crawford took part in' "The Pearl of the Ago." Recitations were given by Misses Agnes Williamson, Ada Gordon, Ailech. Lambert; Marjoris Chartres, Louie Mitchell, Masters D. Perry, and L. M'Girr, and there wore very pleasing dumbbell and club-swinging displays by squads of girls. ' . '•;... BROOKLYN METHODIST SCHOOL. ~ The first anniversary of the Methodist. Sunday school at . Brooklyn was further celebrated by- an 'enjoyable, entertainment held in Fullford's Hall last evening. Considering tho wet evening, there was a very, good attendance. Tho Rev. J. _ R. Clark presided, and an address was given by the Rev. S. J. .Serpell. , Special anniversary hymns wore sung by the. school-children and friends, and other musical items wero given. The report and balance-sheet were read by the secretary, Mr. \V. Lennio. At .tho'conclusion of tho entertainment, votes of thanks wero passed to nil who had assisted in its success. .
