At a meeting of -the OtaJci'lLawn Tennis Glub'on Thursday night, arrangements were made looking to improvement in tlie club's property. Messrs'. Hartmann, .Nicolson, and tho Rev. Mr. Smith tfere appointed a handicapping committee. Golfers, and others are at . present much elated over thqir lady champion's successes, and, on • every hand, Mrs,' Bo.yun is being overwhelmed "with congratulations. It is pleasing to-report -has a- few other players who are likely to closely follow in Mrs. Bevan's steps. Mr., Byron Brown haß received from the "father of coif in Otaki" (Dr. G. Toarce.Baldwin), the following messago:—"Kapai, Ida ora, Qtalu.... Congratulations to Mrs. Bevan for lis.!'.'.{L'ho message was sent from Ainberley, Canterbury. Tho following players represent the Horowlienua Hockey Association' against Manawatu at l'almerston on Wednesday next:— Goal, Burns (Levin); backs, Noble (Otaki), and Vincent (LevinV; halves, Bevan (Manakau), Mackenzie (Levin), and Horo (Levin); 1 forwards, ■ Anderson, Dunn, .and Wilson (Levin), and .-Sim® and Bright (Otaki).
