Sii*i—ln your- issue of this morning, there Jb reference to the .deputation that waited on the Reserves Committee in' connection with the above, From what I can gather, there was a., misunderstanding with reference to the deputation and'the committee. The deputation were; under the impression that after being introduced to the Reserves Committee, the committee and the deputation would then wait upon .the Mayors as it would have been ! a matter of courtesy to have done-so, considering that the idea of -beautifying' the city has originated with him.: It 1 is : - to be hoped that the deputation .will interview the Mayor upon the above subject,'and that, the Reserves Comnuttee should be'.,present.—l am, etc.,' ■v.; .: ; V ADVANCE WELLINGTON. • ■ August 24.
