ENGLAND'S NECESSITIES.
SOME INTERESTING FIGURES. The Industries and Commerce Department forward some interesting figures dealing with the imports of staple food stuffs into the United Kingdom for the six months ended June 30 last. The comparison with the value of tho same imparted, for the corresponding six months of 1903, is valuable, particularly nn regards meat,. showing ns it does the great stride which the Argentine lias made in her export of beef, and the notable increase, and fine position New Zealand holds .in respect to her mutton trade (now suffering from 11 depression, the result of a phenomenal congestion in London). . .
