Tho programme, which was. a lengthy one; was splondidly rendered, and was very enthusiastically' applauded. _ Tho musical abilities of the Andersen family, of Sanson, came as a surprise and a delight to every one present, wliile the playing of tho MjsScs Symons (violins) Was in. their usual delightful stylo. .The other performers maintained their parts, well, and tho hope is expressed that we may soon have something of the same nature and quality again. ;Ah amateur dramatic; Society has been formed, and intends putting the "Ticket of Leave Man'Voti the boards of the local public hall in tho hiear future. As quite a number, of likely artists aro' coping forward, the theatre-going part of ihe community may anticipate a good performance. The local school was closed last week for the holiday, and as Mr.' Adams, the head-master,-has been transferred, the-scholars presented hint .with a beautifully-mounted drcssuig-i!suitably inscribed. .Mr. Jack- , soil, of Mangaweka, -takes up tho duties of . headmaster' here this week.
