MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

(Before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M.). ASSAULT. Geo. Bow den was charged with unlawfully assaulting one George Wmdrum at Wellington on August 21. He pleaded guilty, and on the application of Chief Detective Brobcrg.was remanded to August 30 to allow of the assaulted man's appearance in Court. INSOBRIETY. A record of 16 previous convictions stood against the name of Henry Wallace, who was charged with insobriety aoid also with using obsceno language. On the charge of using obscene languago he was sentenced to 21 days' imprisonment, and for insobriety was fined 10s., in default 48 hours' imprisonment. Ono first offender for drunkenness was convicted and discharged.
