SAILORS' REST.
The fortnightly concert under .the auspices of. tHe'Wellington Catholic Seamen's Conference was given on Monday evening.. The.popu'. larity .which these .concerts have. earned was: evidenced by the large and enthusiastic audience of seamen which attended, standing room-be-ing at a premium. The following contributed items:—Mr. V. Cole (piano solo); Miss M. Frith, Mr. Silver, and Miss N.' Strickland (songs); Mr; Murphy (recitation);' Mr;' Hillditch (flute solo);, Miss M. Taylor (song); Miss Doris Gufse.(sailor's hornpipe); Mr.' E. Healy and Miss /A.'/ Frith (songs);. Mr. S., Corliss (comic items);' Mr. -J. Gallagher. (song);. Miss E.-Scanlon (Irish clog dance); Mr. E. L. G. Reade (song); Mr. C. MlMean- (song); and Messrs. Eeade and Joll (duot). Special features submitted were tho comic items of Mr. E: Kain .and the novel part-singing of Messrs! Foote, Reade,. Bradley, and M'Erlean. The ■accompaniments''.were played by Mrs.' Ward, 'Misses Frith and Taylor, and Mr. Ecnnie. Captain Bonner returned thanks;
