The protecting Powers (Great Butain, Russia, France, and Italy), in a fresh Note to Turkey, express i egret that the Litter has not left tho settlement of tho Cretan crisis in tho hands of the protecting Powers, who have shown every disposition to safeguard Turkish intciosts. Tho Note suggests, regarding Turkish complaints of Gicek activity in Macedonia, that tho best courso would bo to submit' any griovanco to tho Powers who are sigmtory witfi Turkey to the Tieaty of Berlin (Germany, Russia, Bntain, Austria-Hungaiy, Franco, and Italy). It is stated that Turkey has been warned that in tho event of war the Powers would guarantee Greece's territorial integrity. CREECE'S REPLY. 'GOOD EFFECT (Rec. August 22, 5.5u p.m.) - Constantinople, August 21. ' Greece's conciliatory reply to tho Turkish Note—promising to conform with the decisions of tho protecting Powers, and to abstain from encouraging any agitation in Creto—is regarded in Constantinople as distinctly satisfactory, and public opinion is reassured.
