I ; '■ Mr. Hornblow has announced bifliself as i an Independent Liberal, but is unlikely to have -much, of a following. . The other three left in arc Messrs. Mol- , . drum, Hutchison, nnd Hockley. Mr. Mel- \ drum stands in tho Government interest, and is suro to have a big following. \ As to the Opposition candidates,' opinion j seems to be veering round pretty strongly to , Mr. Hockley, and many of those in the elec- ' torale believe that ho will poll equally with Mr. Hutehinson. The latter, it is thought, j will not gain much by the withdrawals, whflso j support it is believed, Kill mostly go to Mr, j Hockley or Mr. Meldnim.
