Apparently, lilso a good many other matters that aro started in Wellington, itt lias not prooeeded any further, at least, I have- not seen any account of such an interview in tho local pipers It js a great pity that the matter should lmo been allowed to rest where it appar cutly has, as I feel sure thoro aro other rosiiloiits who would havo taken tho matter up but for action haung been taken bv others Tlio Major has thrown so much energj into the planting oE the Belt, that I am suro if tho mattoi had been brought before him m the way proposed, it would havo iecoi\od"not only bis liearty support, but that of tho ReScrvcß Committee.
