A TRIBUTE TO MR. MASSEY.

Massoy; the' satisfaction''that he'must haye enjoyed |in listening to : the speeches'.of hie t'rieiids ; and "followers at : the Choral Hall. Political controversy in this country, has an unfortunate, habit of: degenerating into personalities, but' we.can .safely .'say that very few of Mr. Massoy's opponents, have failed to : distinguish clearly ■' between the politician and tho mail, •■ and we would be: sorry to .think'.that the members of' the Opposition enjoy a monopoly of admiration .for, Mr. Massey's good qualities..,'Moking some sniall allowance for the fervid ejithusiasm inseparable from such an occasion, we. may fairly say. that we can endorse' most o( y what was said .by way of • eulogy upon, Mr. Massey's honesty, franlcness, and courage, and his sincere devotion to what he regards as ■ a personal or. a duty,, and -it is well, for , the.
