Sir Joseph Ward received in conference tho New Zealand meat importers, and discussed tho question of tho low prices. Th'o Now Zealand Primo Minister promised to meet shippers in the Dominion, with a view to securing co-operation in regulating shipments, and said he would recommend tho Government to spend soma thousands in .advertising New Zealand, meat. He ■added, however, that tho Government would have nothing to do with opening shdpa in competition with retail 'traders here, nor would ho agree to the branding of meat. v
