Weddings. • A "very"pretty wedding' took place in.St. Paul's -Fro-Cathedral on Wednesday a,'™ 1 ; noon,- when Miss Mary Park Macgoun, eldesi daughter of. the late .Mr. and Mrs. Koberi Park Macioun, was married uo Mr. itonajc Allan Douglas, -tho Rev. Mr.'. Sprott performing the .ceremony; The bride, who was given away: by her,,'.brother,. Mr. -Uax. Macgoun, wore a charmingly simple trained empire • robe -of -ivory : eolienne,. over glacc silk, the yoke and sleeves being of fine .tucked net, the only 'trimming. being a (jold giruie. With ,t£is she woro a small,- white beehive .hat, trimmed. with- a rope of gold, and a spray or .osprey .plumes at. the side. carried a.-'beautiful ..shower bouquet. Miss Ray Macgoun, her '.sister; attended her as bridesmaid, wearing a princess robe, of Swiss muslin, over' glace silk, \vith" panel of tucked net,'relieved with large violet velvet buttons, and violet . straw,' trimmed with large cerise berries,' and.'sho carried shower bouquet, of: violets, . cyclamen, and freesias. Mr. Hamilton Douglas acted as best man. The. bride's travelling costume was of vieux rose serge, the slashed coat being smartly trimmed with buttons. With this was worn a- tagel straw' hat of the same shade, trimmed'with-black berries and quills. _She also wore a handsome set of white fox furs. Mrs. W. 'St. George Douglas (mother or the bridegroom) wore a handsome brown silk-robe toque, 'and feather boa to match. Mrs; ■ W. -Howard :Booth _ (sister •of the bride) wore an, embroidered -pineapple silk .empire robe over silk, 'and a hat of 'champagne straw,' trimmed-with red berries, and fluted velvet, ribbon. Mrs. MacTavish wore a:saxe blue cloth coat and'skirt, stylish blue toque with ostrich feathers, and long black feather boa; "Miss.'Halse,' smart bottle green coat and skirt, with, hat to-match. Yesterday afternoon a very enjoyable "At Homo," given by the Council of . the . New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts, took place at. the Art Gallery, WhitmOro Street, quite a number of guests being present, in spite of tho very unpleasant weather. ■ The Art Gallery is, always au interesting place, for, no matter how-often one may nave seen the pictures, there is always, something fresh to be found out, or soino question to bo dis-. cussed concerning them.
