Sir, —I ; notice in your issue of' August 13 ah article by your travelling' 1 correspondent regarding: Huhterville, district, in ■ wnich 'he says it is essentially a sheep-fanning district, which statement he will find very 1 few to'support' him' in. ' Granted there are portions which,are;only',suitable'for sheep, the bulk of the district a radius of ten miles of Huntcrvillo-Ms suitable for dairying purposes, but whicli, unfortunately: for the town and district generally, is held ill-largo hold' ings running only'a few sheep to the aero.. Had wo known your correspondent was in the district we could-have shown him thousands of acres of beautiful lind-suitable for dairyinland close settlement, niost of it level and suitable for the,plough. He says also that 'Huntervillo has not gone 'ahead, in proportion with other places. The reason is not far to seek—viz.; want of population.
