PROGRAMME ALTERATIONS. •• : 1 Tho Hawko's Bay A. and P. Association has mado somo commendable alterations hi tlio prognmmo for the next spring show. It is very apparent thnt the association does not intend to lag in tho honourable rivalry which is now so visible in similar efforts by enterprising kindred bodies, 'and that _tbc show itself is to be as much of a cosmopolitan nature as is possible. Hnwke's Bay has'always stood well in the sheep and beef breeds, but so far it has never earned any special: distinction as a dairy centre. With the idea of providing something of the hind, tho association has decided upon a butter-fat competition at its nest show, and has also sanctioned an inorcaso in the prize-money for: cows in milk. Another progressive move- is tho installation of wool-classing competitions,. which should bring increased entries from sheep farmers. ' Amongst other alterations noticed aro increased prize-money in 'somo of tho ring events, a challcngo shield for the champion Border Leicester ram, inauguration of farmers' freezing stock classos, and somo additions to the industrial classes. ■'
