Some sportsmen came," across an old Maori wharo ill which were-two - barrel's of gunpowder, which'were contained in an old, military chest.' The contents of.'the barrels had disintegrated into the original ingredients, the saltpetre, char-' coal; and' sulphur-lying-ill three layers.
