DIRECTORS' REPORT. . / Our ' Auckland correspondent writes that the report of tho directors of tho New Zealand Dairy Association for submission to, shareholders at the annual meeting , to bo' held on August 24 states thatthe price realised for butter shipped to London has been less thari for the preceding year. The quality of'the butter sent had been better .'than: for any previous time. It had. given, unqualified satisfaction,, and, notwithstanding the dilßcult season and the general tendency of London buyers to complain, no single unfavourable; comment of any kind had been made. Satisfactory , business was, \ also, done ■ ■ with South Africa, prices being better than in the preceding season. The local business was also well maintained during the season. The [advances on butter-fat were at -, the rate oi lid. per lb'. during August) and 9d. from September to the end of the season., In addition, a quantity of. bonuses were paid. The largest payment on this account this year was l£d. per lb. The;sum of £19,502 Is. 7d. has Been allocated for the payment ot a profit bonus,of l}d. per lb: of butter-fat received duriiiK the season.! Provision has also been made for the paj'ineiit of a,dividend of. 6por, cent, upon the amount paid up to June 30 upon shares allotted prior to March 31 last. Tho directors "recommend this payment, 1 which will absorb £2419 us. sd.| on a butter-fat basis. The total jinyraent (inclusive of dividend) ior tho season tor tho largest supply is Is. Ojd. per. lb. for August, aud 11-Jd. per lb. for tho, remainder of tho season. This again constitutes a record for tho province. Tho butler-fat quality of tlio milk (avcrago/of all creameries) was 3.731 per cent. The overrun has been 13.02 per cent; It required 23.5231b. of mill; to tnnko each pound of hutter. The skim milk test (avcrago of all creameries) has been o.o6'per cent. Thu sum of £32JG Is. Bd. has been expojided upon repairs, removals, and general maintenance.
