There' is not such keen inquiry ' for wheat locally as there lias been in the south, and as there'is very little-offering business is quiet. •The fact that the spring threshing has commenced,. and that a few sales took place early in the week at Is. 9d. at country, stations to fill, immediate shipping requirements, has caused morp oats to be offered, as Is. 9d. was'an extreme price, and was given in order to obtain supplies to fill space thatMiad been engaged tor wheat. The latter now being worth moro locally than in London, buyers are not offering moro, than Is. Bd. at the o.utside. , The London market for oats being weaker, shippers are not .operating beyond their requirements.
