There are indications of its widening. The reef track on which'they are driving is six feet wide. . ••-':••• . The New Big River Gold Milling Company, Ltd., report for,July':—New Eastern reef: 111 the face of No. 3 stope the ..reef has varied from two to four feet in width;.in No'. 4 stope the reef-has varied from 0110 to five feet in width; in the drive-from No., 2-stope the reef opened out to two feet, wide, but only continued a few feet and then out out. Branch reef stopes: No. 10 stope has been .'carried, to the end of the block; in No. 11 stops''tho reef has varied from two to five feet in width. The manager has also risen No. 12 stopo and exposed a -new make of stone in the. back of the .stope, from which a little water is coming! Old Eastern stopes: Over the intermediate level stoping has been continued; in the stopes the reef is varying from a few inches to two feet in width. No. 2 intermediate level; the connection between tho riso from this level and the winze on Cosgrovo's Block-has been ' timbered up, and the mon liavo commenced to break out stone from tho end of tin winze. The main shaft has been sunk a further distance of 41 feet, making 116 feet from No. 9 chamber. During .July 520 .tons ol stone have been mined and treated -for 49. ounces of melted gold;, 300 of sand has beer treated by cyanide, .yielding bullion to tlu value of 440z. 19dwt.; these returns . ar< valued at.(abont) .62100. Concentrates to the amount of 5 tons 13owt. have been saved; their value is estimated at .£2O per' ton.
