The' shoscn ' representatives, Messers Woodgeiy Kerr, Dickson, Kejldell,,' and: M'Kay,.' will > require some practice, and; no doubt some. of the local men'would'act. as pacemakers, ■ thereby bringing about some capital- dis- . plays of the prowess of the' men selected r to uphold the • amateur athletic honour of the Dominion; 'Should the exhibitions be arranged, a, good gathering of- the.. .public would no doubt result. As no .charge could be'made for admission, it is "suggested that J the Mayor..(Dr. Newman), who is also, president of. the . council of . the .New Zealand j Amateur . Athletic Association, might agree ! to' a' collection 'being . taken ..up,-.in., aid of the unemployment ..fund.
