Fowlds, Minister for Education, waß.interviewed by :a representative of The Dominion yesterday,• with-respect to tho accommodation difficulty at the Wellington Girls' High School. Ho was asked, whether tho negotiations 1 between tho/ Government ' and the; College. . Governors .with.'regard' to this matter were atiy further'advanced. f'ln his reply, the ■ Minister sflifl,,t)i.at,;v,'l)en,;tho Government conceded a ;£10;00p for the, provision; of additional accommodation at the Wellington Boys' College, 'it Was distinctly understood -that, the > consent of 'tho college authorities as to the admission of proficiency, certificate-holders to. the institution applied, with equal force to. applicants for'admission, to the Girls' High Seliooj. In : his opinion, the two colleges were one foundation. \ Thc_ Government acted fairly- by the , governors in making as;it did ; thb:.necessary additions at the boys' college, and lie was .not prepared to concede; anything further with regard, to the girls' . college-until: pro.fioiency certificate-holders wero admitted to that institution; When that wAs done, the Government • would .then,'- if. necessary, provide whatever additional accommodation lniftht be required.7 ' ' . Examination, showed that all wero suffering from tho effects of poison, and an investigation of the barrel revealed the presence therein of a dead rattlesnake.
