He asked for ,a cup;of "tea and for some- writing- materials. Theso were provided, and lie was left alone: Pre- ■ sently groans were heard,'and rushing into the room the family found M'Carthy was dying: :He expired in about'half ati 'hour. It is believed he took prussic'acid. 'ijioto on the table read:' "I have lived'six years for this girl, and wish to say; good-byo:" It-is denied by'the girl's' parents, and by the girl- herself,' that she' was - engaged to. M'Carthy.
