Mr and Mrs H B Sorensen havo bean visiting friends' at Copenhagen, where they spent three neeks While in Denmark they paid a visit to Mi; Sorensen's only sister, whon) he had not seen for 49 years They are.now in London tor a few weeks, after which they will visit tho Channel Islands, and spend a month in Scotland t Afterwards they will visit Pans, Holland, and Germany Mr J A Burt, of Dunedin who arrived by the s s Moldavia on April 23 with Mis Buit and Miss Molly Burt h'as taken up lesidence at 17 Talbot Road, Highgate Mr Buit has come over here to su|>erintend the buying for the Now Zealand business of lus firm, and purposes to remain for two or three years Since arriving, 'ho has visited Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh, and Glasgow He spent a few days in Edinburgh and Glasgow golfing, and one day at the amateur championship at Muirfield Mr J Sidey Adam, of Qunedm, New Zealand, was recently married at St Martm-in-the-Fields, Trafalgar Square, to Miss Lilian Hayward, only daughter l of the late William Hayward, ' Plumstead Common, Plumstead Mr J Sidey Adam is a grandson of the old pioneer J'ohn Sidey, who emigrated to Otago t in tho Brundoll in 1848 Since leaving New Zealand ho 'has both studied and practised dentistry m various parts of the world, and will probably remain a year longer in England, as he has taken'a flat m tho West End of London for that period. On Saturday, Juno 12, at All Saints' Church/ Devonshire Road, London, S W , tho marnage took place of Edmund Walter Djnnie, finger-print expert of tho New Zealand /Police, eldest son of Commissioner Dinnie/Now Zealand Police, to Margaret r Emily Yates, youngest daughtor of .the late i John Yates, of, South Lambeth, London The bride, who was very prettily dressed in nhite, silk, and was attended by two bridesmaids in white and blue, was given away by her eldest brother After the reception, held at the bride's residence, Mr and Mrs Dmnie left for Clacton for the honeymoon .s Mr Thos. Falvey, tho New Zealand inventor of the roversible steam turbine, has succeeded in forming tho Falvey Turbine Company in London, with a capital of £5000, to work his invention Patent rjgh'ts bavo bees' taken out all over the world The company has taken offices in Trafalgar Buildings, Trafalgar Square, London, and this will bo Mi Falvey s headquarters for somo timo tp come.
