Saturday afternoon. • During the journey they exchanged experiences,- iuado a mental note of the number o£ tunnels, and of points of interest, and generally, exercised their, powers of observation. They wore met at the station by tho- local patrols, ami marched to 'the,, red? dence of. the Rev. Mr. their scoutmaster. Here,, instruction in. the plan for tho afternoon's work' was detailed. ■ ' .

Tho latter were given a. few minutes' start. The city lads spread out over a mile of country, and .endeavoured to capturo the pirates. In this, they were only partially successful, one-third of the.booty and two desperadoes only being reported'captured. How tho booty -was ;captured is not quiti olear, The honours.of the day rested with,tho Khandallah patrols. A gun was fired to recal 1 the reconnoitring party. : Refreshments , won supplied by; the residents, and were heartilj ' partaken of.
