In order'. te . furnish' the eliibrooms, it was decided, to float 200 debenture's of .fireach,'and although the total number t was not jcOmioitfW felt .justified,in-, going. on> with;';the' scheme, and the rooms were furnished with a billiard table, piano, and general-furnishings. To date. 170; debentures had.beeil. applied, for. and memoers were urged to ji'e'lp the officers pi : the'club-by doing their'best ta.account'for.tEe remainder.',A depul-ation- waited on thp'.'trustees of the Dnllshedand asked for theusa of the lecture-room adjoiniiig'the'clubrbom, This was finally granted, and the.two 'rooms. 1 connected by putting a .'doorway through" the,:'dividing.wall. The thanks of, the cliib' were duo. to the' trustees for ' their..consideration, in':,this • matter. The membership of the club numbered 96, .which was considered fairly satisfactory.'-• A series of lectures was arranged for. the winter months, the opening lecture being given by Colonel iKobiri.,, This/lecture .was greatly .appreciated., During the year 'several' social functions' wpre held,' 'and'-all-proved real successes.'.-. The ,thank 9 of 'the" club -were. due to Colonel Robin and Captain llabin for donations, to .Captain :Corrigan, Lieut.-Colpnel Duthie, Lieutenant Hnlbert, and , others for presentatiods, ■ and 'to Sergeant Day for many acts which he has performed for'the club. The following honorary officers were elected for the. erisuinß year:—Patron, Lieut.-Colonel Bauchop, C.M.G.; ; president, : 'Colour-Sergeant Da.vis (City Eifles); vice-presidents,.Colour-Ser-geant Evatt (College Kifles), arid QuartermasterSergeant: Gibson (D- Battery); secretary,' Sergeant Griffiths (D Battery); treasurer, SergeantMajor. Avery (D Battery);.auditors, Lieutenant Chapplo .(Engineers) and Colour-Sergeant Prandi (Zealandiaßifles); committee. Sergeants: Cowles (College Rifles), Hugo ' (Zealandia Eifles),..Cimiriq (College Eifles), Bould (WeUington Guards),, .representing the Eifle Battalion, and Sergeants Wright (Engineers), Finlayson (Bearer- Corps),, Npedle (Electric Light Corps), and Dement (Heretaunga Mounted Eifles).
