This restriction 'is..acutely felt by vendors of game in "Wellington.' Some have received encouragement enough to warrant them importing game from, Australia or, England during the close' season, but,' on' making inquiries, wore informed that importation of game is prohibited for ten months of tho year. It is not improbable that this rather absurd law or regulation may bo tested in the courts.' It is-argued that if people aro prepared to' pay for-table luxuries, the'law should not prohibit it,- and 'to•safeguard local game the'invoices for. the" imported a'rticlo could:'always be available for inspection by (he proper authorities.
