Cook Polico Court yesterday, before Mr. John Smith, J.P., tho following cases of insobriety were dealt with:—Alfred Win. Riggs, fined 10s., or forty-eight hours 1 ' • imprisonment; Thos. Robertson and George Cooper Wilkinson, each fined 55., or twentyfour hours; Frederick James Tollcy, conrioted and discharged. t The tramway t employees 'have made a request to tho City Council Tramways Committee that tho council erect a recreation room for them at the car-shed sito, Nentown, at an estimated cost of about £300. Tho employees have offered to contributo £100 towards tho cost of tho work if the council will provide the balance of £200. Tho committee last evening' recommended , the council to agree to, tho proposal, and this course was adopted, Let J. J.
