Preservation Society. This.is- an error. Replying to a New Zealand correspondent who has protested against its-.assaults .on the financial methods of the ■ New Zealand' Government, and who urged that i,the Go'vernmon*. had done many 1 good . thinga; the Sydney "Bulletin" makes this unanswerable observation:—"The "Ward Government may have done many good things. The Mayor of Levin (Mr. Gardener), the chairman of the Horowhenua County Council (Mr; M'Leavoy), and' Jlf. Field, M.P., at once waited on the- Hon. J. A." Millar (Minister- for. Labour) with a request that the unemployed married men ■, at Levin should be given a-.chance in connection with the • work; Mr., Millar ■ promised to refer the matter to his colleague, Mr. Mackenzie.
