_ 0 ' SATURDAY'S GAMES. ' KARORI AGAIN BEATEN, After a Saturday off, hockeyists. wero permitted to venture out again on Saturday afternoon, but the grounds at Day's Bay were very soft, and the- going was heavy, so that tho pames were slower than, usual.., Karori met with their third defeat at the hands of Y.M.C.A.', who, by tho way, are easily the best lasting teani in the competition—steady training has its rewards. United added to their laurels by beating Wesley, while Wellington beat Vivian, and Victoria College kept the referee busy recording the; names . of their scorers against Tborndon. Y.M.C.A. (5) V. The I'* loo increased considerably, and, Karori's ' forwards began : promising operations, which,: however, wero marred, Willis boing off-sid« v A good attempt by G. Soon after tho cudgels wero taken up' again , Cardo raised ' Y.M.C.A.'s--score to four. Karori were, playing a disconnected game; and. seemed to bo. tiring, when fresh energy was .infused by a fine ehot from a "corner" by C. Campbell. . 4—2.'- Affairs seemed to bo re--versing in. .Karori's favour, when. L.
