MIRAMAR BOROUGH COUNCIL.
; A meeting of the Miramax Borough Council was held last evening, and was attended by Mr. C. J. Crawford (Mayor), and Councillors Brodie, Mleod, Petersen, 1 nnd Bell. •' 'The Mayer-was appointed to-represent tho borough l at a conference of .delegates of local' bodies, to be held on July-29,-for the purpose of deciding upon the.shares to be paid towards the erection of an infectious diseases hospital. Mr. J. B. Pindlay wrote that he • accepted the terms'of the council for work to bo done m providing access to; the .Golf Terrace block. Th« Harbour Board engineer wrote regarding the agreement under which the board proposed to construct now roads in the borough. A plan was. forwarded showing: the position \of the roads and the storm water drains. The plan was approved. ■ '." : Messrs. Miller, Willard; and' Pnller complained of the bad state of the Seatonn Heights Road. ' Tho matter -was left in the hands of the engineer. : The town clerk submitted a report on the condition of the.Old Farm' Road, and recommended that'it should be graded. Action was | deferred. • ■ >■ .
The council confirmed the order raising a special loan .of £MQ for the purchase of land for • a sanitary depot A special meeting of the (Council was'held for rthe-purpose of fixing security for the loan. A special order •was made levying a rate of.one-fourteenth of a penny.
