An increase-is also shown in telegraphio revenue," which';for the .last quarter- amounted to £122,986, as. against £113,892: for the. second quarter of last year. -Adding the postal and- telegraphic revenues together the increase shown amounts to. £22,132. The most interesting figures'are, those dealing, with the Savings Bani. ■ The.'amount/of deposits during' the - quarter ' just ended was •62,500,911; as against last year,' and .the withdrawals 'amounted 1 to .£2,416,501 for 'the past quarter, as against .£2,447,707 for the saine quarter of last year. .The excess of deposits oyer withdrawals amounted to. ,£84;439, ■while : during the second quarter of. 1908 the amount reaohed ,£15?,950. In six, postal districts the withdrawals exceed the deposits. Wellington is one. of, these,' and Wanganui heads .the list -for ah. excess of withdrawals.
