HASTINGS NOTES.

(By Tolczrapb.-Spcclal CorrosDondcnU Hastings, July, 17. An adionrned meeting of creditors in tho estate of P, W.'Sampson, motor agent, Hastings, was held on flrlaay. Eight creditors were present, and the Deputy Official Assignee (Mr. K. W. 11. Browne) presided. The assignee explained that tho meeting had been adjourned to allow of tho attendance of Mr. Davis, bankrupt's paitner, who had been on a visit to England, and who was now present. Tho stock at Hastings was valued at £1118, and at Waipukurau at £604, making a total of £1722, exclusive of book debts. Mr. Davis stated that he entered into partnership with bankrupt last year, but could not remember the exact date. Ho did not know then that Sampson had any liabilities. Sampson's share in the partnership was comprised of stock, and foodwill. 'The partnership did not takeover anknipt's previous book debts. Bankrupt, under examination, explained his sharo in the partnership. His (bankrupt's) share was represented by stock, fittings, goodwill, and book debts, and Mr. Davis's share was £054 cash and £1000 in bills. After further discussion, it was decided to allow Mr. Davis a fortnight to purchase debtor's interest in the partnership. It was decided to allow bankmpt to keep his furniture. The poultry show waa continued again today, and there 'was another largo attendance. Tho are additional special prize-winners:—
