matters which promise unsually good, times when, the dairying season opens, and tho lambs begin to come, and orops ripen up to harvest. In some districts,'owing to the great abundance of feed, it is likely that a number of dairy factories, which usually close dov;n or run only ou' alternate days during the slackest winter months, will continue without a break. General reports from other sources speak of cows coming in early, and there seemu to be a. prospect of the local market beings well supplied, with butter, till the opening of. the new season. A reduction of prices in Wellington, however," is not yet discussed. 'Stock for freezing is still coming forward freely in the South Island. In Canterbury, as is usual at tho close of the season, the quality of the lambs is showing deterioration, but in Otago and Southland the quality is very good.
