NEW ARTICLES, AND A PROTEST.
A meeting of shareholders of the Meremoio Co-operativo Dairy Company was held on Saturday to confirm now articles of association adopted at a previous special meeting. Mr. A. Bissett (chairman of directors), who presided, moved that the resolution be confirmed. .'

The Chairman: Wait a bit, I don't know that, you are in order. Wait until I put the resolution to the meeting. ; Mr. Dunlop: No, I object before you put it to. , the meeting. ■ -:i • "* ■ ■ The Chairman .-"This,resolution is the business or the meeting; ''-.'. .Mr. Durilop then warmly protested ,that the chairman had refused to give him a hearing at the previous meeting, and had stifled discussion. He added: "I willread this objection or you will put mo out, as you choose.' . ' -.■■■■■-.
• *• Dunlop then read the following:— 1 o the chairman and directors of the iUeremero Dairy Company: We, the undersigned shareholders of the above company, Uo hereby enter our protest against, the proceedings which are being taken for alteration, of the , articles of. association of tho company, and particularly against clause 9 thereof. We are. advised that'the resolution which was claimed to be passed at tho meeting held on Juno 19 was not duly passed, arid that in any case tho chairman acted illegally in refusing to allow the.poll which was demanded by at least six shareholders' present at the meeting immediately after tho result of the show of hands was 'known, as wo are-advised this is the proper time to make the demand. Wo will refuso to recognise the resolution which was claimed to Dβ passed at such : meeting or any subsequent resolution confirming the same, or to recognise any alteration whatever in the articles of association, and particularly wo refuse' to be bound by. said clause 9>"
