7 QUARTERLY MEETING. ' The Public Service Superannuation Board held its quarterly meeting on July 13. The claims 'of several officers to count service'phor te that certified to by the head of their, Department weio carefully considered,' ,and several of these were admitted. Others were Tefusod on tho grounds that they did not come within the provisions of tho Act. A committee was sot up to go through all papers, to bo considered at future meotings of the board prior to such meeting, and thus enable members of tho board to bo in a position to inform the board of all details connected with the matters coming before them. It wae also decided to amend the regulations so that Thursday should be the day fixed for the meeting of the board in lieu of Tuesday i (tho present day). Tho annual report of the board.te be presented to Parliament was considered and approved. It was decided by the board that a declaration as to widowhood should tor the future be made by widows receiving pensions. The question of .folio writers in the Deeds Registry Offico being eligible to join as contributors was considered," and it was / decided to allow them tho option , of joining as from June 30, 1908, the date required by the Act. A statement was read to the board by tho secretary showing that tho amount at credit of the fund on Juno 30, 1909. was £120,034 18s. 9d , of which £95,035 is invested on mortgago as required by law.
