Tho unsatisfactory position of tho street numbering of■ the nouses in tho city was referred to at last night's mooting of tho City Council. Some time ago the houses were all renumbered, but in many casos tlio now, numbers havo not boon placed on tho houses, and as a result complications frequently arise. Opo 1 councillor recently had tho' of sending a parcel to house .No.' 19 in a particular, street. There wore twd No, 19's in the street, the old and tho now number, and tho parcel reached tho wrong number Tho Mayor pointed out that the council had carried out its part of tho ■ work, and it remained with householders to do thoir part It was decided to insert an advertisement in tho newspapers urging honreholders to seo that the old numbers were removed and the new onos put up "It will do ro good," was the opinion oi , one" councillor.
