Tho French Chamber of Deputies—despite tll9 argument of several Deputies that Franco is giving Canada tho benefit in the minimum tariff of too many articles—almost Unanimously ratified the Franco-Canadian Commercial Convention, as slightly modified in the Senate. 1 M. Cruppi, Minister for Commerce, emphasised tho advantages Franco would 'gain by the Convention, especially in the matter of wines and silks. Ho declared that rejection of the Convention would mean the application of Canada's general tariff to French products. , ' . .
