ROMNEYS APPRECIATED,
The demand that lias boon experienced for Romney sheep of recent years', (says «the "British Farmer and Stockbreeder") has been eminently good, and it is'therefore,;satisfactory to note from information recently received that'the probabilities of this demand continuing appear assured. Within the- last week or so inquiries as to the characteristics, of the breed and its adaptability for, North Canada and Georgia iii the United States have come to hand. From tho latter place a request has been made that quotations should bo given for, rams .and .ewes, lliese facts show: clearly the advantage of the system adopted by the . Breed Society in advertising and making known in the various importing- countries ike ; value- - of this grazing
sheep, such as can and do thrive in many districts and countries far away from their native- homo. No breed at tho present time is held in greater valuo in New Zealand, whilst in tho Argentine,'and Chili, and Patagonia it occupies a high position. It may bo said this increased demand depends upon the'breed proving itself suitable, but of this there is little doubt.
