PROPOSALS FOR THE FUTURE. Discussing the proposal to give increased pnzc-moncy at tho ne\fc Fcilding show, Mr. F. Y Lethbndge, speaking at the meeting where the proposal was under consideration,

said- that ho thought that A. and P. associations should discourage tho flock ram altogether, and give tho preference to tho stud rain. When a man wanted to breed flocks, ho always used a purebred ram. Mr. A. R. Mayo expressed the samo .opinion in a different way. He said that the sooner they got rid of tho "mongrel" from tho show tlio better it would bo. Mr. Ernest Short mndo a suggestion to the members of tho Feilding A. and P. Association that at tho February show there should be- a competition for.students attending tho wool-classing classes in 'connection-with the Feilding Technical' School. Tho suggestion was that prizes should be offered: for skirting and rolling fleeces, speed and neatness to count. It was agreed to set tip a special committee comprising' M«ssrs. J. Knight, G.-C. Wheeler, E. Short, and H, J.- Booth to act with the-instructor (Mr. J. Cabin} in preparing tho conditions of the competition. As prize-money for the : competition, Mr. Short donated £2 25., and Messrs. H; J. Booth, D. H. Guthrie, J. Knight, and- N. Gorton £1 Is. each.
