The stream is still flooded, and showe no signs yet of Koine down. At a meeting of tho Hawke's Bay Polo Club yesterday, it was decided to buy two and a half acres of land adjoining tho Polo Ground and lay it down for tennis courts. | Tho Nativo Land Court sat this morning, but no litigants appeared, and tho adjourned business is not expected to start till next W< A sub-committee of the executive of tho Hawko's Bay Hockey Association met last night, Mr. Basil Jones in tho chair. Delegates also attended from the ladies' clubs. Tho New Zealand ladies' tournament is to be held in this district, to start on AugUßt 21 Play will take place both at Eastings and Napier. Mr. E. Shirley was appointed tournament secretary, and thrco electors wore appointed to soloet a representative team for Auckland to compete ,in the Plunkot Shield.
