OTAKI SANATORIUM.
' PROPOSED .ADDITIONAL SHELTER. n Messrs. J. P. Luko (chairman)'' and J. Godber, of the Wellington District Hosnital Board, paid a' visit of inspection to the Otaki Sanatorium at the end of last week, and found eTorvthing goin£ on satisfactorily as far" as the institution is concerned. The work at the hospital was not as busy as it has been, and indicated a falling oft in sickness in tho. district. It was impressed on members of the board recently that further provision would need to be made for the treatment ot moro patients on tho malo side at tho sanatorium in connection with the open-air cure. After going into this matter thoroughly,' and Consulting tho matron and doctor, a piece of land adjacent to Uip men's ward was located,'' which, land will give 'facilities for an additional - shelter to accommodate four -This additional work is said to be quo of absolute necessity in view of tho growing demands of the citv and -district. The matter is to be brought before a special meeting of the aboard, and, if necessary authority is given for the building of the'new shelter, the work will be put in hand without delay.' It is understood that if the" work is sanctioned facilities will bo given for the'carrying out of the work by day labourj under tne supervision of Mr. Bassett, , engineer;,who has already done good work ,for the board, a
